The economy, and how we can make the economy work for us, is the greatest challenge facing us in Dwyfor Meirionnydd. This will be the focus of a new series of podcasts that I will be producing, and will be the main focus of my campaign for the May 6 election.
Why the economy? If we are serious about getting to grips with climate change – the biggest challenge facing the global community, certainly – or ensure the future of our culture; if we’re to ensure that young people stay in the area, and have homes available for them, with a good standard of living – if we want these things and more then we must get the economy to work for us for the benefit of our communities.
So what do we mean when we talk about the econopmy? What is the economy and what part does it play in our lives?
These questions and more will be asked during this series of podcasts, with the aim of encouraging debate and inspiring ideas.
In this, the first episode, I have the pleasure of having a wide ranging discussion with the economist Dr Ed Jones.
