Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood joined Clwyd South Parliamentary candidate, Mabon ap Gwynfor to meet traders in Llangollen and talk about how the party’s business rates policy will benefit them.
Mabon ap Gwynfor said: “It was great to hear the views of local businesses in Llangollen.
“Traders here have bucked the trend in times of economic difficulties. They have served the community well, although it has been tough for some with staff having to be laid off and a few shops closing.
“Plaid wants to take 70,000 Welsh businesses out of business rates and this will help many of the traders in Llangollen, who like small traders across Wales, have had to battle against rising costs.
“It is vital that everything is done to improve the fortunes of our town centres, which are so important to our communities, because it will create more much-needed jobs.”
Leanne Wood said: “I was very impressed with Llangollen and the plurality of businesses. It’s a thriving town and a lot of best practice which other market towns could learn from. I would like to thank everyone for their warm welcome.”
