Mabon ap Gwynfor, Plaid Cymru candidate for Clwyd South said:
“The funding provided by Plaid Cymru Minister Jocelyn Davies AM to this project shows that we want to see the area flourish and that we have confidence in this area. It is an investment in the future. Coupled with the funding provided by Plaid Heritage Minister Alun Ffred Jones to help create twelve jobs and secure a further nine jobs at Rhug in Corwen this should help attract greater number of visitors to the region.
“The Llangollen Railway Trust have worked hard for a number of years to secure this funding. They have a strong vision and are committed to the success of the project. I look forward to seeing the train go into Corwen hopefully in 2012.”
